Dear Councilman Sack:

My name is Ray Tartaglione and I have lived in Purchase for the past 24 years. For the past 34 years, I have owned and operated an Auto Club of New York franchise in White Plains.

I also own a summer home on Hen Island in Rye, which I purchased 12 years ago. You may have read or heard of recent litigation involving Hen Island. I would like to meet with you regarding same as soon as you are available.

I saw your recent video interviewing Jay Sears on Rye-TV and understand you have been a past member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

With your new position as Councilman, I believe it would be mutually beneficial to meet and discuss the current happenings on Hen Island, as many incorrect rumors have been circulating. I believe that as a result of our meeting we can "clear the air" and help our mutual causes.

My contact information appears below. I look forward to meeting you at the earliest opportunity. I remain,

Appreciatively,
Ray Tartaglione

Dear Mr. Tartaglione,

Thank you for your e-mail. However, on this matter I think I must refer you to our City Manager, Paul Shew, who is copied on this e-mail.

Sincerely, Joe Sack

Dear Councilman Sack:

I appreciate your timely response. I also appreciate your suggested referral, though you should know that I have, in the past, sent letters to the Mayor and other council members. I encouraged them to contact me regarding the very serious issues presented at Hen Island. I'm aware that corporate counsel has advised everyone to not respond to me or my communications, so I particularly appreciate your response, which is the only courtesy I have received.

I have attached my previous e-mail to update you about my concerns, since you are new to the Board. Similarly, I will also copy Mrs. Parker. It is unfortunate we can not meet or speak. Were we able to do so, you would be moved to investigate my concerns; you are being prevented from speaking with me by those who want you to know only their side of the issues. They do you a grave disservice.

Not withstanding the efforts of those that instruct you to ignore my letters, I am committed to follow through with these matters until the issues are appropriately addressed. My persistence in the past has served the public interests well, and I expect the same regarding Hen Island and the City ofRye.

It's too bad we can't meet to explore any common ground, as well as to seek resolution to our differences (assuming there are any). It would save money for everyone, as well as many years of aggravation. I hope you will reconsider your position, even if only in an unofficial capacity.

Thank you again for your response,

Ray Tartaglione
